Resolutions
by carolynholm
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Mia says we were supposed to celebrate the New Year last night with champagne. We didn’t have any champagne! Did we mess up the New Year??????
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Don’t worry about it, sweetie. Mia is referring to a human tradition. Alpha Dad and I were careful to have enough champagne last night to make it a successful New Years for the entire household. You’re all taken care of.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Molly tells me that we were supposed to make New Year’s Resolutions. I didn’t do that!!!!!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Don’t worry about it honey. Dogs don’t need to make resolutions.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Molly says Resolutions are mandatory. Everyone has to have at least one Resolution. And I don’t even know what Resolutions are!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
A resolution is a promise to yourself to meet some goal. A goal that you set for yourself. Something that you want to have happen.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
I have lots of goals!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Well then, you should be able to come up with a Resolution after all!
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
My resolution is to get the cats to play with me.
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
You’re almost there with Mia. She flirts around with you now. But I think it’s going to take a while with Puffin. You’re going to have to work on that Resolution.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
I asked Molly what her Resolution is. She says “More Snacks”.
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
I think Molly has gotten very single-minded in her old age.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
And Mia’s Resolution is to get her own Instagram Account. I don’t even know what that is.
XOXOXO
Dear Poppy,
I wouldn’t spend a lot of time worrying about her Instagram account. It may never happen.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Molly wants me to remind you that her Resolution is “More Snacks.” And Puffin says his Resolution is to get dinner served in a more timely manner. Whatever that means.
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Puffin is obsessed with dinnertime.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
I’m thinking my second Resolution is to catch a squirrel.
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
That’s not going to happen. But you are welcome to bark at them.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Molly wants me to tell you again that her Resolution is “More Snacks”. She’s really concerned about it. You can tell because she’s been pacing around the kitchen.
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Tell Molly that you passed the information along. She needs to stop pacing and take a nap.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Puffin says his second Resolution is for you to use a bigger measuring cup for his kibble ration.
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Poor Puffin. He should be resolving to lose weight. That poor cat gains weight just looking at kibble. No wonder he is obsessed with food.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Mia says her second resolution is to join in on the champagne toasts next New Year’s Eve. She wants to start practicing now.
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Everybody needs to calm down. I think we’ve had enough resolutions for 2016.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
Okay. Meanwhile Mia and I will toast the new year. Happy 2016!
XOXOXO
Poppy
