Dear Alpha Mommy!
There are turkeys on the roof!!!!!!!!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
They roosted there last night. What a racket they made at dawn!
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
If you let me up onto the roof I’ll take care of them for you!
Love, Poppy
Dear Poppy,
No honey, we won’t let you on the roof. And even if that were an option, do you know how big those birds are? They’re huge. And that is a big gang of them. There must be twenty. They would go after you.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
But they’re so exciting! Now I want to go after prey!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
I think you should stick to your toy frog.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
There is so much exciting wildlife in our back yard! I want to catch something! Maybe a rat!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
I’m not sure that’s in the cards for you. You’re not fast enough to catch a rat. You have to be able to turn on a dime, like Molly used to. Molly was amazing when she was younger. But ratting was in her terrier DNA.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
There are squirrels!!!!!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
They’re like rats, honey. Really out of your reach.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
There are raccoons and possums!!!!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Please don’t even think of tangling with a raccoon. They are serious thugs. And leave the possums alone. They are slow, but they are good neighbors. They eat snails, for one thing.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
I saw a garter snake yesterday!!!!
XOXOXO
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
I’m glad to hear that! Leave it alone. They’re also good neighbors.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Alpha Mommy,
There’s the cat next door!!!!
XOXOXO
Poppy,
No.
Now it’s time for you to calm down.
Love, Carolyn
