The Regulated Schedule
by carolynholm
Cher Madame,
The breakfast she has not been on schedule lately.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
What do you mean? You are all fed on a very timely basis.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
There are some mornings when Madame is resisting the wake up.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
For heaven’s sake, Puff, Monsieur feeds you when I sleep late. Though for some reason you and Winston still come back to wake me.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
Because we want our second breakfast. Le Top-off.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
I never should have started that.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
We all appreciate Madame’s generosity. But this household should have a regulated schedule. Sadly the schedule here, she is sometimes disregarded.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
You are very committed to the schedule, aren’t you? Come 5:00 pm and you are all over me for dinner.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
Actually, we know that Madame is forgetful, so we start at 4:00 with the reminders.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
Sometimes at 3:30. Which is truly annoying, sweetie.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
Le regulated schedule is the support of le household.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
Evidently. You are also quite punctual about the evening playtime. I don’t know how you all do it without watches, but you cats lift your heads from your evening naps at exactly 9:00pm.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
Because that is the magic time. When Madame flings the prey around the room from her wand. For that, Madame must stop reading and escort Poppy to the bedroom so we can have our special game time without that moronic cur lunging and barking in excitement.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
She does get excited when the playing gets energetic, doesn’t she! Fortunately she’s fine with being shut in the bedroom because she always gets a treat with it.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
Il faut dire, it is not a regulated schedule in this household. Too often when it is that magic time, Madame says wait, let me get to the end of this chapter, and then we have to sit in the center of the room. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. C’est an interminable wait, Madame.
Regards, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
No, it’s not.
Love, Carolyn
Cher Madame,
We sit there with anxious sadness because Madame will not take her nose from the book to play our rightful games.
Regard, M. Le Poufin
Dear Puffin,
I never should have started that.
Love, Carolyn
