Mix Up

Dear Mom,
I didn’t know that dogs could have birthday parties!!!!!!!
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
That was fun, wasn’t it? Four of our neighbor’s dogs with their people, gathered to celebrate Spencer’s birthday. He’s a very popular dog.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
There were Pupcakes!!!!!!!
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Those were cute! And you all got along so well. I was glad to see that you and Rosie have stopped barking at each other. You’ve had such a fraught relationship.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
Rosie started that. She always barked from their front porch when we walked by.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
You contributed plenty. But now you seem to be getting along so well! I’m glad – she’s a sweet dog. We are going to go together up to the park on the hill, so you two can play off leash there.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
I love that park! I didn’t know that Rosie went there too!
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
We never ran into them there, did we! I’m glad we can go together. We’ll have a lovely walk and you two can have a romp.
Love, Carolyn

Dear Poppy,
What on earth HAPPENED?????
Carolyn
Dear Mom,
Rosie barked in my face!!!!!!!!!!
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
All of a sudden you two were fighting!
Carolyn
Dear Mom,
Rosie barked in my face!!!!!
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
It was shocking! You two yelling and growling and screaming and rolling and tumbling around in a terrible fight! We had to run after you to pull you apart!
Carolyn
Dear Mom,
You pulled my tail.
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
That was all I could get hold of in the excitement.
Carolyn
Dear Mom,
Rosie barked in my face.
Poppy
Dear Poppy,
We think she got startled by something and barked. Sweetie, I think you over-reacted.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
Maybe, but you pulled my tail.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
Well, we won’t be repeating that experiment.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
Good. Because Rosie barked in my face.
XOXO Poppy
