Battle Chaos

by carolynholm

Cher Madame,
That petite dog is visiting us again.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
He is. And we’re glad to have Musso here because he’s part of the family.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
Mon Dieu, he is that?
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
You know he is, because he’s with my daughter’s household.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
But he’s not in our Pack.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
We’ve been through this a million times before. He’s part of our extended pack.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
Are there, how you say, different rules for the extended pack?
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
No, you cats just need to remain civil.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
He keeps looking at me.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
He’s very curious about cats.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
His impertinent ears go straight up when he sees me.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
I have to say, you don’t seem too worried about him.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
I’m bigger than he is.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
Winston is too. You both seem quite calm with this visit. For the most part.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
Bien sûr, we settled things.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
Settled? Would that be referring to the excitement yesterday?
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
C’était vraiment an excitement. The Musso got too close. He got swiped by this petit cat. The Musso screamed. The Winston ran out of the room. And the Poppy she went crazy. It was, as one says, the Thrill of Battle.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
I think one is more likely to call it the Thrill of Chaos.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
That petite dog was introduced to the weapons on the ends of M. Le Poufin’s elegant white paws.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
I’m glad you didn’t really connect. You simply alerted him to the possibility of painful injury.
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
He will be the wiser dog now.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
Do we know why Poppy was barking like a maniac and scrambling after Winston?
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
The Poppy saw a fleeing animal, and it flipped the predator switch in her tiny brain.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
But the fleeing animal was our Winston!
Love, Carolyn

Cher Madame,
The Poppy is a dog. Madame should not expect rigorous intellectual brain activity from a dog.
Regards, M. Le Poufin

Dear Puffin,
This from a cat who prays to an automatic feeder every morning.
Love, Carolyn
