Assigned Beds

by carolynholm

Dear Mom,
Sometimes Winston sleeps in the Death Bed.
XOXO Poppy

Dear Poppy,
There is no death bed, sweetie.
Love, Carolyn

Dear Mom,
He sleeps in Mia’s bed. Puffin says that’s the Death Bed.

Dear Poppy,
No honey, there is no death bed. I thought we all settled that. Just because Mia died after she slept in that bed doesn’t mean the bed is a death bed.

Dear Mom,
The cats have a bejillion beds, all over the house.

Dear Poppy,
They do have a lot of beds. It’s an attempt to contain the fur. You have several beds yourself.
Love, Carolyn

Dear Mom,
But just three!!!!! One in the bedroom, one under the coffee table in the living room, and one in your office. The cats have several beds in every room!
XOXO Poppy

Dear Poppy,
Maybe they need more beds because they are disorganized. You are a very organized dog, so you just need three.
Love, Carolyn

Dear Mom,
Well, okay. But what if they sleep in my bed?
XOXO Poppy

Dear Poppy,
They do tend to do that, don’t they? They really like the bed under the coffee table. But why all this anxiety about the beds?
Love, Carolyn

Dear Mom,
I want to make sure we’re all sleeping in the right places.
XOXO Poppy
